Why? If the system is broken, they should be making manual CHAPS payments instead of dragging their feet and claiming it will be fixed soon.

I'm not with an S3 agency, and nor will I be, but it's amazing the sh!t that some people put up with. If my money's late, I'm on the phone straight away demanding a CHAPS payment or I don't turn up the next day. It's amazing what the thought of any lack of commission will do to motivate someone...

Well, to be fair... I has been really good in the past...

It's all electronic - I can fill in my worksheet online, get it approved online, submit my invoice online...

Theoretically, I can get my manager to approve it Monday morning and the moneys in the bank by Wednesday...

It's just that when things go wrong with it, it really goes wrong...

All new timesheets I create one their "new" SAP system have VAT.

I'm having get their payroll to cancel all my approved yet uninvoiced timesheets and re-create them and get my manager to approve.

It is bit of a fiasco.

Their Central Payroll seem to not think a problem exists and keep on passing me back to my poor stressed consultant.

It is impossible to get hold of their IT support for the system and when you try and explain it, it goes over their heads.

Honestly, if I had run an IT project to move to SAP like they had, I would of been run out of the country.

Very unprofessional and has a bit of a complete "**** you" attitude without anyone wanting to take ownership.

take it from me there is nothing accidental about this at all. The system is designed to withold money for as long as posiible

I haven't had any contact with an S3 agency for quite some time, they finally got the message after being told to fuck off countless times. Funnily enough, no lack of contracts.

Speaking as "a higher skilled contractors able to command superior rates", I don't

They tried to tempt me with an ITIL database entry right until "but we'll need three references before we put you on it"...

My non-entry hasn't stopped the work coming in, strangely.

No, neither have I, cos the ruddy thing doesn't work

They have been crowing on about this new functionality that SAP will bring, but for some reason, their inept IT staff seem incapable of implementing SAP and so leaving all their contractors unable to invoice them.

After 14 phone calls in 2 days, they now say "the site should be working some time this morning"
Inept? does'nt sound much like ineptness to me. Ineptness would be a system that paid out to contractors whilst being unable to bill the client.
