Was about to flame you for your carbon footprint in procuring a bottle of wine.

It was bl**dy expensive (like, almost a minute's billing) and I brought it back half way around the world. I'd hate to ruin it.Originally posted by Old Greg View PostTry freeze distilling it.

Try freeze distilling it.Originally posted by NotAllThere View PostI saw a bottle for sale when I was in Australia, so brought it home. It's made entirely from chillies, sugar and water. It has a sweet taste, but is, naturally, rather hot! A good aperatif.
I was wondering how a spirit made by distilling it would be. Anyone seen any chilli spirit?

I've made chilli vodka, just by putting four kenyan chillies into a bottle of vodka and leaving it about a month. Thing is chilli oil is soluble in alcohol, so it spreads nicely. It was good to have with deep fried battered whitebait - and beer chasers.

I suspect that it's probably not distilled but a local pub has a Chilli Schnapps which is painful. Even seen an ambulance called once for someone who did not heed the warning and knocked it back in one
