    How would one dispose of the resulting harvest? Apparently slugs have a 2 mile estate and know where you live. Patently a money spinner if you don't mind looking the other way

    Absolutely, and it would probably be comparatively easier than trying to identify and grab moving caterpillars and beetles etc.

    Anyone fancy making a mint in their garage?

    The time can't be far off when a practical robot capable of detecting and bagging agricultural pests in greenhouses and even open fields or vineyards etc can be made and sold for a modest amount.

    For example, it looks like this open-source Yolo project might be adequate for the detection part with suitable training.

    If anyone with electronics and mechanical hardware experience is interested then by all means PM me and we can start discussing it.

    Actually, I've asked here before, but received no serious replies, and not over-optimistic that this time will be any different ..
