William was Norman, Harold was half-Norman and wasn’t even on the line to the throne (his sister was married to the king), and you’ve got as much chance of being descended from the victors as from the losers.
Pop down to Battle and have a look around, it’s not a massive exhibit but you get to walk on the grounds where the battle took place and it’s quite interesting as far as history goes.
