Maybe linkedin itself should implement some kind of fuzzy match where it can identify blatant plagiarism
The ArXiv adds notes to some papers, such as (picking the first example I saw in a quick search) 1709.03889
Usually this is not untoward, because authors tend to publish several papers on the same topic, with incremental changes. So naturally the introductions of the successor papers contain a fair bit of copy and paste from the previous incarnations.Comments: arXiv admin note: substantial text overlap with arXiv:1301.4701
But the damning indictment, nearly always seen against papers with Chinese looking author names (*), is:
(*) No doubt i'll be accused of racism, but I spend several hours week checking ArXiv listings and reading papers, and that has always been my experience.Comments: arXiv admin note: substantial text overlap with arXiv:1301.9999 by other authors

WLMSOriginally posted by ladymuck View PostWhy would you feel like a nob? If you can prove they copied you then (a) ask them to amend and (b) see if there's a way to report it to LinkedIn as a copycat account or such like.
Either that or tell us who it is and we can all stalk the person?
Cheeky bugger!
How did you find out?
