Very nice, but soulless and not worth the money, bland...

I have heard all sorts of stories about being able to have one as a company car and use your corporation tax as the down payment + reclaiming the VAT on the lease but frankly a grand a month feels mighty high for a concept car that is still evolving. The model 3 might not be as swanky but 40k down is a much better way to test the waters of electric car ownership.

If the batteries are worth a lot then it's akin to driving around with valuable bricks for scotes to steal. Easy pickings, which won't help with the theft part of the insurance premium.
And if there's a propensity for the batteries to overheat then the fire cover part of the insurance premium will cause a double whammy.
As said, get a diesel, or a V8, or a V8 diesel.

Have just taken a look at the comparison between the 3 & the S here:
https://www.tesla.com/en_GB/model3
Too many compromises.- Supercharging isn't free
- Cargo space is half that of the S - 15 cu ft instead of 30 cu ft
- 2 digital diplays replaced by 1 x 15" display
- Takes twice as long to get to 60mph - 5.1s instead of 2.5s (depending on variant)
I think my next car will be a big inexpensive diesel...
