Mrs BP was drunk. She pulled a knife on me so I laughed. She wanted to make me jump back.

I left and she called the police. They came round and, as you say she was not arrested.

They came round the next day and I refused to speak to them. Which made them very angry.

Remember Diver from Swansea? His cousin was beaten up by her husband one Saturday night when he was drunk. After she came out of hospital 2 days later, she did nothing until the next SAturday night when he was drunk. She got a pancake pan(the ones that weigh about 5kg) and hit him over the head. When he got out of hospital 2 months later their marriage was fine....

Aye my mate actually got arrested too. His mrs showed him bruises on her arm. He said he didnt do too much to her and to be fair to him, he did say he had to forcefully take the knife off her. Seemed fair to me and he explained it to the coppers.

But of course his mrs denied it, said he'd grabbed her and was going to hit her. So arrested him. They let him go without charge but I thought it was pretty bad of the police.

Mate of mine (not me - my mrs is gone in the head but not that bad!) had similar. His mrs was a right psycho. Used to cut his clothes up etc then buy new ones, repeat. She tried to chin him once with a frying pan. Not just once but kept going for it. Then when she grabbed the butcher knife he thought enough was enough.

He didnt hit her but basically restrained her and forcefully took the knife off her. She phoned the police. Guess who got arrested?

Presumably she has got rich lawyers. Ernest Saunders all over again.

Whenever I tell a woman mrs bp tried to shank me they always ask what I did wrong. I still think women are assumed to be the weaker gender.

Having said that, I would have her as my surgeon. We have a shortage of doctors generally and people are getting more unwell. Standards will have to drop....

You can't force people to work full-time. You can as a government pay them less but that means you go back to the 70s and 80s, where there was a shortage of GPs as no-one wanted to work full-time.

I thought that they could reduce the university fees for medicine, but on the understanding that medicial students then had to work in the NHS full-time for n-number of years afterwards. It's huge money to train a doctor to consultant level.

Basically GPs and many other specialists don't want to work full-time as the working conditions and hours are sh*t.

Yep, we only have one full time GP, rest are part time, though not been in a while so may have changed.

You can't force people to work full-time. You can as a government pay them less but that means you go back to the 70s and 80s, where there was a shortage of GPs as no-one wanted to work full-time.

In that case its a valid comment. It may be for many reasons we want to encourage women Doctors but if the reality is they will see less patients then we need to factor that into the equation and train more Doctors overall.

From what I've heard it's not all it's cracked up to be. A previous girlfriend did a six month rotation as a SHO at the GUM clinic. She's used to come home with some tales. Supposedly it was quite common for married men to have a guilt complex after playing away and attend with phantom conditions.

I've deliberately not read the article. However, I presume it refers to female doctors going part-time after having children which I understand to be quite common. Over half of all medical students are now female.
