A pro-Brexit voting permie from North Wales moves to anti-Brexit London for a contracting gig... I hope you will make an honest effort to integrate with the locals. Good luck and don't forget that your contract has a notice period and the length of the contract and all the sweet things you've been told mean nothing.
London does not have locals. As a white, able-bodied, middle class, homosexual its only really sasguru and myself in that group. Except he's a sockie....
It's about taking a year off - including Bank Holidays - whenever you like.
It's about stuffing £40k a year, tax free, into your SIPP.
It's about being able to afford any gym membership you want.
It's about having a bonus every month.
It's about having a expensive quality car of you own choosing.
But mostly... It's about not having to deal with the bollox of being stigmatised with a grade.
Indeed. All that lovely paid holiday (I get 30 days plus bank holidays), 15% company pension contribution, executive health plan, bonus and company car at my grade.
What's all this tiresome contracting bollox about?

It has taken about 3 months since I was first approached, however I have picked up a nice gig in London. 1 year. Small team, small company. Nice rate. Strong growth prospects.
I will be sad to leave permiedom and North Wales.
Mrs BP is even talking about moving down to London with me....
The Mrs BP thing? Not so sure. London has lots of very expensive handbags..
