The harbour is extremely shallow (average depth: 48 cm), with one main dredged channel through the harbour, from the mouth to Holes Bay.

Ah yes, but you need a 3,000m runway to get that off the ground. Jersey airport only has 1,690m, so the best option is a C-5B, which can take off from 1,524m of runway when carrying 62,200kg of cargo + fuel.
