). And although historically they have had their separate IT departments and infrastructure in both cases there was a major drive to fold them into a centralised IT department to reduce cost. Not sure how much control the Uni governing body has over individual departments funds but i imagine they can restrict their funding for kit if not staff, leaving them at the mercy of the centralised IT.
