Well amazingly I can concur.

It does appear that it does work. I've been having a dabble since last Saturday and made just under 300 quid on a whole different range of bets. I think once you've signed up to everything it's a lot more difficult, but I find this blog Matched Betting Blog to be quite good fun, and it highlights some interesting promotions as they come up.

It's not going to make you rich, but over lunch it's something to do when eating your sarnie, and it's kept me off CUK & out of the bookies losing on the slots. So triple bonus.

Did a few years ago when I was permie (and had more time and less money).

Made about £1500 doing the matched betting thing. You can get spreadsheets to record it all, and also to work out how much to bet etc. Its a good laugh thinking I just made £40-£50 for 20 mins putting on a few bets.

Only thing is though, the bookies are getting wise to it so some of the intro offers are not as good. Also, some of the offers are one-off so once you've done them all its done - although there are some repeatable ones (usually around cheltenham festival). Also, you need a wedge of money to start off (i.e to lay the bets in your betfair account).

On a similar note, many years before I did the online casinos thing. Some of these were offering 100% match on say £100. And then you just had to bet it 2x to withdraw (i.e. you had to wager 2x deposit+bonus = £400).

So deposit £100, get another £100, play 400 hands of blackjack (which is game with the lowest margin - if you play it right, you can get charts off internet telling you what to do in every situation). Withdraw on average £180-£190 or so (i.e. lost £25). A lot you'd get £100 quidco as well so you couldnt lose! (almost £200 profit for probably an hours playing blackjack)

Of course, you've got to not be dull enough to go back which is what they want.

There were tons of casinos. Not good these days - they've wised up to this - now wager requirments are generally stupid like 20/30x so its just not practical.

Must have made £4000-£5000 on the casinos though.

No I completely agree. That's what the guy started doing. Doing it himself, few blogs, making tax free cash, then started a website.

The concept is completely sound, but seems like a load of hard work. Now, if you could automate the whole process, then you're laughing.

Being the owner of the forum or exchange would be better. CUK has 10's of thousands of forum members, think how much Admin is raking it in with all those subscription fees.

Yesbets is pretty good. tells you exactly what to place where and finds the offers for you. I made about £1500 a month for the first couple of months but the freebies are now getting a bit more scarce so around 500 the last couple of months. Established customers do get free bet offers but not as often as they do sign up bonuses. If you want to pull in a free £4K or so over three or four months, with just a bit of concentration, then do it.

I think the casino one is risky as hell. But it does look like taking the free offers, and then reload offers could quite easily net you a few grand to start with and then 500-1000 a month after that.

Helluva a lot of hassle to do it though, plus you do run the risk of fecking it up one month. But it's also tax free.

I'll have some more time next month & over the summer, so may take a look to see how the process works.

In the past, like I said, I've had deposit £100 (then get bonus), quidco £100 offers. Sometimes even £50, quidco £75. Even if you totally screw up you couldnt lose.

Never had a casino not pay up. Although some made it much harder to cash out than deposit. Photocopy passport etc.

Once for some reason I was doing the crap online fruit machines (which normally are really crap). I dropped £900 or something. Didnt believe my eyes at first. It was £20 to get next day payment into account or free to wait for cheque - lets just say I paid the £20 to be sure!
