What's Belgium famous for?
Chocolates and child abuse, and they only invented the chocolates to get to the kids

I think you can remain UK Tax resident for the first 183 days in the country after which you have to go onto Belgian tax, or engage in some kind of 'scheme'. In my case this would have meant 55% of income going to fund the pensions of Belgian tramdrivers. I finished before it became an issue, however as the deadline approached I started to get telephone calls from Dodgy Agents offering 'solutions' of various degrees of legality.
I was in Brussels and put on 5kg in 6 months :-) The presence of the EEC means a large variety of nationalities and a lively social scene. But the EUR was a lot stronger then, I remember raising one invoice at parity with GBP, I'd have thought at current ex rates the day rate would have to be pretty spectacular to compete with a UK contract.
Watch out for commune taxes and avoid private landlords/ladies.
