If Mrs Gonzo had cooked today then I am not sure that I would have noticed.

I can cook though - Sunday lunch is a piece of pi$$ All you have to do is put the stuff in the oven in the right order. Anyone can manage that surely?

I did think that 12 hours in the oven sounded a bit extreme to dry something out - even at 60 degrees. Thankfully the power of doing nothing won through!

I thought I would try the remote again before washing it and lo and behold it has started working again - funny how often that doing nothing turns out to be the best course of action. Thanks for the advice though.

Anyone see Robin Hood tonight? Bit slow starting but quite good in a tongue-in-cheek family viewing sort of way.

Liked the look of the Torchwood trailer afterwards though. Looking forward to that one.

Mr Cowell has made a fortune out of modifying someone else's ideas. I take my hat off to the bloke - and wish I could do the same thing!

But I don't enjoy watching the show.

I believe that Mr Cowell was making the tea at a record company at the same time I was doing my degree - now which one of us has the most to show for it? (clue - not me)

    Having said all that...

Mrs Gonzo likes to watch **** on TV on a Saturday night like Ant & Dec and Stars in Their Pop Idol, but today she has accepted that the service is down so I am spared having to sit through them....

I'm not expecting it to work again but anything to provide some distraction today is most welcome

Might work & if it does, it's cheaper than a new controller.

Removing the batteries is essential because it stops electrolytic corrosion, and the hot water gets the sugars & stuff out.

Liability is limited to the amount you paid for this advice: i.e. nothing.

MarillionFan - you and me both know that we are not the same person. There aren't too many regulars on here today so your irony might be lost.

I am still watching this bulletin board on a Saturday afternoon so I think that I am getting sadder than ever. The new remote control cannot arrive quick enough....

Must be the day for it...

After a wine spillage incident last night my TV box remote control has died and so I am reduced to a choice of four channels with a very fuzzy picture.

I thought that I had lost the internet as well for a while.... a weekend without TV and internet was looking pretty grim since I am very sad and don't do anything else.
