    iProfileUK / Vertifi

    @ OP

Vertifi.me (Vertifi Ltd) is a company in the UK that owns the iProfileUK (*not* iProfile Pty, which is Australian) behemoth. We're all getting these emails as an attempt to verify candidate data cheaply - I'd strongly recommend not doing that and asking for your data to be removed. The minute you log in they are implicitly getting you to agree to their terms and conditions.

If you've ever received an email from iProfile saying "Welcome to our database!" you'll find that an affiliated recruiter has either acquired your details from a job board, or you've sent an application to that recruiter.

Once that agency has your details they add you to this system and - if you look closely at the T's and C's - they then own all your data, can export, etc.

However this is not appropriate; have a read of the assessment section in this ASA ruling ... https://www.asa.org.uk/Rulings/Adjud...DJ_300289.aspx

They *seem* to offer financial incentive to agents who add your details to their system and offer the "verification services" out the back door. This is probably so that they can cleanse data via a link to Experian and then trade valid data on (either to recruiters looking for candidates or for any other purpose). Up until now they've been using the consent from their T's and C's to authorise this.

Of course you didn't sign up for it, ask for it, want it, etc...
