I think it was worth it
However it would have been nice if we had exported most of the posh Uni students from the 60's & 70's to Mother Russia or Cuba where obviously would love to be.
I think most people would prefer a few less bleeding hearts and a few more with the Dunkirk spirit, rather than Nazis goosestepping down Oxford street.

Actually no - although I have relatives there - hint - their wines are sold in many places and would score about the same as my username here in Scrabble...Originally posted by lilelvis2000I bet if Oz had a easy immi. policy - you'd do it in a heartbeat.
To be honest, I am considering leaving the UK - but for somewhere within the EU, such as a Scandinavian country, Luxembourg (for work - probably Fance or Holland to live), or perhaps Italy (although the IT side there looks dodgy). I have friends in various places scattered about the aforementioned countries so I will be spending the next 8 months of permiedom (I don't think i'll last more than a year) doing long weekends in various cities to get a feel for where I might want to be...

Typical Britain - even the immigration officers are at best immigrants, at worst, illegal immigrants.... who want sexual favours. They are getting as bad as the judiciary (though in terms of stupidity and depravity, the Judiciary have more years experience, and it would seem, better camcorders...).
Might have been better if we had actually sued for peace in 1940. Too many of the decent people died, and it would seem, for absolutely nothing.

May sure you get sun burn on the beach in some overcrowded spanish beach, mumble something about racism in a non-English language, 'is it coz I is pink, and in you come, might even get a council house you could sell off, if you claimed to have come from zimbabwe.
