Went to the opticians yesterday for eye tests & pay for glasses and also had to invoke my travel insurance to see a doctor as well.
Had blinding headaches for the last 4 days, continual blurred vision, disorientation and confusion & my blood pressure was still really high and that's after going on medication. The confusion is worrying me and yesterday I lost the plot in one meeting swearing and ranting.
Don't even fancy a Not even drinking. Not a good trip so far.
All classic symptoms of High BP. Get the quack to get you on Beta Blockers asap.

Wish I knew what the trigger was but no obvious associated changes in diet or lifestyle….. ...
I agree with FLC, in that there's no doubt it's a sudden sugar/carb (energy) rush, from a low level, followed by a bright light trigger.
e.g. No time for breakfast, then a cup of sugary coffee and snickers bar, and a doughnut because someone brought them in on their birthday, then clicking a link on a dark PC screen and switching suddenly to a white screen ...
Was it a shimmering zigzag pattern that started in the middle of your field of vision and slowly migrated out in a spiral?
That's sometimes called a Jacob's Ladder, although admittedly I can't find many links.
I get them occasionally, and I reckon they're caused by a sudden visual stimulus like walking from a shady room into bright sunlight after eating too much sugar such as a chocolate bar.
Me too. First I notice that I can't actually see the word I'm reading, but I can the lines above and below. This blind spot then expands into a letter 'c' shape, it’s a bit like the effect you get when someone sets off a photo flash in your face, but it scintillates and zigzags. Then it gradually expands and dissipates, the whole thing consistently lasts around 45 minutes from onset and is followed by a vicious headache and nausea for the rest of the day, though these don't seem so bad recently, maybe I'm just getting better at managing them. They come in clusters, I can go months or even years without one then may get one on several consecutive days. Wish I knew what the trigger was but no obvious associated changes in diet or lifestyle…..
First happened when I was in a hotel room, staying away for a course. Scared the bejesus out of me, I thought I was going blind….
