Wahey! Gets better. Lost vision in my right eye with blurred vision in my left last night. Had to get a colleague drive me and my car back to the hotel down the freeway as I couldn't see properly.

She was proper freaked out. Must be a brain anurism. :

Luckily for me I'd had this last year and so new what it was. An ocular migraine. Scared the crap out of me last year as I was driving and had to pull over and went to the doctors, but not had one for a while. I wander if that's the cause for my dizzy spells and I need to go back to being a speccy twat. Time to get euthanized methinks.

An other form of this migraine is confusion and speech disturbance. You want say 'Fish and Chips' and you end up saying 'Shag and tissue'.

Your average NHS GP will prescribe you Asprin. A neurologist will give you something called 'Migramax' and will also put you on Amitryptiline. The latter works like a bull !

Was it a shimmering zigzag pattern that started in the middle of your field of vision and slowly migrated out in a spiral?

That's sometimes called a Jacob's Ladder, although admittedly I can't find many links.

I get them occasionally, and I reckon they're caused by a sudden visual stimulus like walking from a shady room into bright sunlight after eating too much sugar such as a chocolate bar.

Once the visual disturbance is over, you get a head splitting headache.

But necking a couple of anadin before the headache sets in, I find one can mostly avoid it.

It starts by losing you direct vision. So the person I was talking to I can't directly see if I look at them. Then zig zags around the side and the large swirling circular patterns. A bit like a blur filter you can apply in something like MSPaint.

Effectively you can't see straight, peripheral vision is a blur and you lose sense of distance. So basically you're driving is fooked.

I spent five minutes trying to focus on my phone so I could set the destination on my SatNav before giving up and phoning my young female fit work colleague to give me a lift home. Help the old codger out. :

Not everyone is lucky. Once I get a visual disturbance, I take Migramax 900 mg. I still get a headache, though it isn't a killer.

Yep, that is it. It thankfully only lasts for 15 - 20 minutes (in my case) and I close my eyes till it passes. You try to see a woman's face but you cannot. So you have to look at her tits directly to be able to see her face.

That'll be it. Had had a headache for five hours and was like ' I really need to take something' before going, oh tulip too late.

Right. Just need to phone her to help me get my zimmer ,help me in the shower and to get dressed. #embarrassed
