It has come to my attention this year 2015, the contract rates have gone down considerably throughout most of the regions.

It is of my opinion that the Agencies have obviously have up their percentage and contractors seem to be loosing out considerably.
I would be interested to have a discussion on this if someone is interested?
The difference between loose and lose (grammar lesson)

    Guffaw!

and there in one picture is a clear explanation of why the US will never agree, in the foreseeable future, to abolish cash worldwide or even venture far into NIRP territory.

Rates are relative. Currently on the most I've been on but there's always the risk of a rate cut, it goes with the territory.

I've found rates steady and I don't expect them to change for a while despite what's coming for us in April.

I recently got back from there for a month. Had 3 weeks remote work from my uk client too at london rates!

I can't see it myself. The rates for my new skillset (3 years work to get here mind) are very reasonable... Still not equal to 1999 though...

No doubt rates will go down if you can't speak the English language and live in the UK. Sure there is demand for skills but you need to be able to communicate.

I'm on the top end of rates for my skill set in my region, not complaining right now but we will be once this contract finishes and I'm having to take a pay cut. #Misserable.

I'm seeing it on both contract and permy, some of the permy salaries I'm seeing in my sector / technology are paying now what I was getting in 2004 with 2 years experience, also I see rates up north are starting to look better than London if you compare cost of living etc.

Rates in my sector have fallen about 10-15pc in the last 12 months. Mind you, they had risen fairly nicely over the preceding few years.
