This reminded me that I hadn't booked my car so I did last night. Now, we are driving from NY to Virginia International Raceway via Skyline Drive, than on to Roanoke Island, Washington DC and back to NY, so we'll need a decent car. Budget Car Rental, Ford Mustang $1200 for 2 weeks, result!

I daresay if I'd booked earlier it would have been cheaper. Happy to pay £1900 rather than £3200 though.

Happy that if I looked on skyscanner today it is £3200+

Must admit I'd like to go somewhere else. BUT with a new young child its sort of going through it all again.

And it is a great place to go with kids. Apart from the long flights that is.

August to Florida this year = not cheap flights.

Mrs was dead keen on direct flights. Looking at £4500 or so for economy for 2+2 - sod that!

Even indirect was averaging £3000+

Got a bargain. £1900 with BA via Chicago. Not ideal - 5 hrs in Ohare but for the sake of almost £1500. (But 2 hrs miami coming back to not too bad).

Not as flush as some of you who'd do business class lol.

No, but when not going to Florida we go to Spain or France which makes up for it. Although it's generally the ones you wished had stayed covered up that dont...

^This is what makes me wary of going on holiday to Spain or Portugal these days.

We have been 3 times so far.
The first time in May and it was to take the kids to disney. They loved it.
2nd/3rd time we went in July and we focused on the Harry Potter sections, shows etc..

If we were going back we would go for May again. It was quieter and nowhere near as hot.
