    Everything is awesome!
Nice one. I've also heard that the catchphase 'where are my pants?' was actually one of NLyUK's utterances originally.

It wasn't invented then but it was found to be useful:

From www.krazyglue.com (You have to search for The Kragle)

During the Vietnam War, cyanoacrylate was proven valuable to military surgeons. Under battlefield conditions, they used it to stop bleeding and even close wounds. Today cyanoacrylate is used in specific formulas developed for medical use.

Note: Krazy Glue products should not be used for wound care.

There are medical grade superglues. So perhaps those were 'invented' during vietnam.

That was my first thought too, but it seems to be an urban myth
Cyanoacrylate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The original cyanoacrylates (the chemical name for the glue) were discovered in 1942 in a search for materials to make clear plastic gun sights during World War II, when a team of scientists headed by Harry Coover Jr. stumbled upon a formulation that stuck to everything that it came in contact with; it was rejected for the application.
