No, not like Migration watch. I know perfectly well that, if one quotes Migration Watch or the Daily Mail etc, that in itself will be advanced as an "argument" by the leftist non-thinkers on here and that no other examination of the facts is necessary.

Just one example. Remember all that stuff about a lot of Romanian/Bulgarians coming here being denounced as hysteria because not many turned up in the first few days? Here is recent news from the BBC:

I don't know about UKIP being a bunch of thickos but what you fail to see is that the whole argument is about whether we let "more", "less" or "none" immigrants into the UK. The people who are already here like myself, prince Charles, Farage's wife are not the issue. Yet you keep trying to turn past migration into the issue. Why? Have you no rational arguments to put forward?

You will find similar number of idiots among supporters of other parties, it's just that only the left need to keep pointing these mistakes out because they are devoid of any more rational, fact based argument. It is observable on here that, if one cites proper evidence from reputable sources on immigration or other contentious issues, it rarely gets any comment.

It is observable on here that, if one cites proper evidence from reputable sources on immigration or other contentious issues, it rarely gets any comment.

Those with more extreme views are also an essential part of real democracy because they are part of the normal distribution and will also support more moderate policies. If you arbitrarily exclude one end of that distribution you shift the mean over and necessarily impact those of more moderate views. Personally I would rather see proper reforms in the EU, including a slower integration that does not treat real problems of ordinary people with such disdain, than see the UK leaving. However, that will never happen without the threat from UKIP and other European right wing parties.
