If you have a grocers shop in Accrington and 20000 Eastern Europeans are sent home and the local factory shuts down part of it's operation.

a) This is great for the grocer because he can reduce the opening hours because no-one is coming into his shop
b) This is bad for the grocer because he's lost 20000 customers.

And if you are an Aldi with heavily discounted food products thanks to the aggregated buying power of their enormous operation then you can cater for all the unemployed spending their benefits and then relocate the profits back to Germany

The only small "businesses" (if you can call them that) who want to remain in the EU are IT contractors

it is little surprise when the CBI lend their pretty well unqualified support to Britain remaining in the EU and it is also little surprise that IT contractors with their fat low tax earnings also unquestioningly support Britain keeping with the status quo.

The CBI itself a recipient of £800,000 in funds from the EU represents all the great and good of the corporate world. Most of these companies prosper by virtue of the complexity of the red tape that keeps smaller companies out of their markets.

These corporates are also along with government departments the biggest employer of IT contractors.

It is no wonder IT contractors are so pro to keeping the UK within the EU. "Sod everyone else" I hear you say! For the rest of us an exit would help us all.
