I hope to retire in a year or two. Oh no I don't! If my limited company forces me to retire I will sue it under the new discrimination laws and claim tax free damages equal to the money in the business which I can then offset against corporation tax. Wizard wheeze.

If we reintroduced socialism there would be none of these problems. A single wage for a day's work for all our citizens.

The government on the other hand wants firms to keep the oldsters on because it can't afford for them to retire AND employ the economic migrants from the EU and elsewhere because otherwise they'd have to be on benefit. Of course, all the firms want to do is make a profit !

Oh Dear : Older staff 'dumped' as law looms
So, although El Gordo and others with index linked pensions topped up by the taxpayer are living it up...
Back in reality...
"Older workers are being dumped in the lead-up to the introduction of age discrimination laws in October, a charity has alleged.
Age Concern says it has received a spate of complaints from older staff claiming they have been sacked without warning in recent weeks.
The charity says calls from sacked older workers have risen by 200%.
Under new legislation, it will be illegal to force workers to retire before the age of 65."
Hang on, I thought this lot of new labour government scumbags had just told us to work until we are nearly dead, competing with polish, rumanian, and indian kids for jobs at B & Q?
