Genuine plan for getting rid of IS (for anybody who is actually interested)
1) Support Iraqi army by supplying them with the weaponry they have been begging for!
2) Stop the funds coming in from Saudi/Qatar
3) Put an international force on the border between Iraq/Syria as it is an internationally recognised border
4) Threaten Turkey with sanctions if they don't control their borders
5) Use air strikes in coordination with the iraqi forces (i.e. at their request as they know what is going on at ground level)
6) Stop the spread of salafist/wahabi ideology around the world.
And that is a solution that will work.

Remember last year when Obama tried to invade Syria and wasn't allowed to because of popular opposition, and (amongst other things) our MPs voting 'No'?...
Notice how this hideous great boogey man has surfaced pretty juch since then with billions of dollars, Western/Saudi training and being very well armed?
And now the US are bombing Syria... project pushed out to the right somewhat but at least it's moving forward again :/
Stay tuned for the next milestones being Iran/Russia/Venezuela...

To deal with IS you need to go to the root cause and origin of where it came from which is the Pentagon/CIA/Federal Reserve.
America have armed and funded both sides of another war...

Really that little lot should be enough to do for ISIS before anyone else gets involved.
But hey if we send the mighty RAF, David Cameron gets to be a brave war leader.
So that ok then.
But as you point out, RAF will make no odds. Its only for politics. We should not be getting involved.
Hopefully they won't all be obliterated. We can keep a few in zoos as a testament to their toughness. And their stupidity.

An interesting read on modern Arabian lands and people and how they came about:
How the British Divided Up the Arab World | Lost Islamic History
The differences between Iraqis, Syrians, Jordanians, etc. were entirely created by the European colonizers as a method of dividing the Arabs against each other.
And a letter in the Mail (I'm sure I've seen this elsewhere):
