    In case the woman you are covering doesn't come back then they will offer you the permanent job if they don't make it redundant.

    Also the woman you are covering doesn't have to take a year off.

    So they are basically hedging their bets and you are likely to lose every way.

    so they pay the same salary as their FTE but no benefits and can treat you as their B1tch.

    Start telling them how worried you are about WWIII starting and how a bloke on a forum told you it'll be really soon and that you should prepare yourself to go off the grid.

    Just practise how to cut them off very quickly and put the phone down.

    Doesn't always work some call back.

    Then you have to put their number on your blocked list for a few days.
