Well yes, I have the same Microsoft account on my phone as on my xbox which is kind of the way it has all been designed to work but I cant then call home.

OK so I have a pensioner friend, who would like to use skype (or google hangouts) occasionally, that’s about all, video calls to friends abroad
She has no clue at all about IT, and I won't be around to be the support bod
What's the easiest way to give her idiot proof access to skype?
I was thinking maybe an android tablet, pre-set to log into skype, but even that I am scared will be too much for her
Is there an even easier fool proof way to do it?

Sorry, but I think you're on a hiding to nothing. My mum has an iPad that logs into Skype automatically. Not once have I managed to raise her on it - despite the fact that I can see she's logged in (mum manages to do a fair bit on line too).
Don't get me started on my dad - he seems to think it's some kind of magic kaleidoscope
