I'm currently contracting with them, despite my negative review earlier in this thread ('m still not very positive about them though), but unfortunately they have many roles in the niche where my specialisation lies.
They were a headache to get the contract right, basically because I refused to opt out and when they finally got it right, they messed up my ltd company name so they had to send me a new version (in total 5 versions until it was completely right)
Also their first payment was about 2 weeks late, had to chase them for it.
Will see how it goes with the second payment which is due in a week or so.

Yep, I've been with them and they have no idea about opting in or out. Halfway through my contract I got an email from them asking to sign an opt out "because their internal auditors wanted to see evidence". Trying to explain the legislation to them was like talking to the deaf.

They did pay on time for the full contract though, and the agent was professional (although he did complain a lot about having to pay me before the client paid them...)

I have contracted with them. Paid on time and nothing much to complain about (once I was dealing with a senior agent).

Oddly enough one of the few agents to speak to regularly is a La Fosse one and he's bent over backwards and also calls me from time to time to see how things are. Like proper agents used to be.

La Fosse

Hi guys,

Got a contract opportunity with LaFosse, anyone recommend them. Do they pay on time? Anything I need to look out for on the contract agreement?

They have just introduced two; one for the company and one for your accountant. It is in response to the 'false self employment' provisions in this year's legislation. I was going for an extension at the time so they are probably introducing them at negotiation time for each individual contract.

They've contacted me a few times about other opportunities recently so that's useful to know for future reference. Thanks.

I had a huge falling out with them over the terms of an extension. I didn't accept in the end. I was worried about the last payment but even though the client authoriser was on leave, LaFosse went out of their way to authorise someone else and the timesheet and invoice were processed promptly according to the terms of my original contract.

I would use them again if they could get over their insistence on completing compliance questionnaires

My experience with La Fosse has generally been very good. Placed at a good gig last year, they always paid on time. The selection process was smooth and I was always kept informed. I would work through them again - they contact me from time to time with potential opportunities.

However, they did have some admin mix up around May/June when one of their staff left (the person who used to handle invoices.) That affected me because one of my invoices was delayed in payment (not a huge amount.) I've got a friend who also contracted through them and he had an issue with non-payment of an invoice but La Fosse sorted it out quickly.
