Its because davie boy was over on the sub continent recently and stated the UK had an open door policy to people to come and work in the UK because they are 'needed.'
Cue agencies for throwing open adverts stating needing a work permit \ visa is no longer a hinderance to applying for a UK job despite thousands of UK contractors scrabbling around for decent contracts.
IMO, of course.

"Applications welcome from candidates who require a work visa"
I've recently started looking for contracts on jobserve again. I am seeing an enormous number of job adverts with the above. Usually you'd come across one or two of these (lower-paid NHS/public roles typically) in a fortnight of trolling through ads, now there are dozens, from all sectors, public and private.
What's up?
One possibility is its because Tier-1 shut down about two years ago, and the effects are coming through now. Simply not enough well-qualified IT people in the UK. Which has been my theory all along. All the bluster about "bobs" on this forum notwithstanding.Tags: None
