Just spoke to an underling there about a role and then a few minutes later her master called me.
At first I thought she was fishing for rates info as she asked me about 3 times what I would charge and I just gave her a roundabout figure dependant on work and location.
Then her higher-up called and went into some detail on the role and he also asked me to confirm the rate. Then when I asked him who they were he said he couldn't tell me due to exclusivity bla bla. I didn't feel like pressing him on it and the legality of forwarding my CV to an unknown since I'd already talked to him enough and didn't see what would be gained from it.

I went for a role through them a few years back. All good till I got the paperwork - pure permie - every single HR policy you could dream of to be signed off. Not even vaguely looking like a contract! They slammed the phone down on me when I declined. Hopefully the contract paperwork has improved since then.

My answer is: You should look for better options rather than chosing Coal IT.
Thanks,

I assume the OP can't go and 'chose' another recruiter because this one has the 'chosing' role that he 'chose' to go for.

Worked a contract with them over the summer. All well and good until the final paycheck which I spent the better part of 2 months chasing up.

Had a permie offer through them about 3 years ago. Had no problems until I turned down the job, then the guy got a bit stroppy... "why didn't you tell me you had other offers" etc, etc.

I've had favourable dealings with them in the past year, won an interview but then refused as someone came in and pipped me.
They continue to deal with me, so I'm happy.
