    Hmm, I did manage to backdate my FRS VAT registration and claim back a load of VAT when I made a cock up by not registering for the FRS from the outset. Agree that this is quite a different scenario to what this IOM company is doing though....

    Back-dating a contractor into an IOM flat rate VAT 'scheme' - got to fall under the MSC legislation if nothing else I reckon - sounds really dodgy doesn't it

    If it is legal it soon wont be. Typical - just as I am thinking of going limited but inside IR35 someone spoils it by being greedy - only matter of time before restrictions get put in place I would guess.

    Looks like they are trying to make money from something most contractors would do as a matter of course i.e. sign up for flat rate VAT......

    Don't see why anyone would use them. Just DIY surely?
