    I bet you are the best candidate - if they try to find someone better they will take weeks. They should just give you the job and wait.

    In this sort of situation (where your current client is looking to move you on) I've always found the client quite happy to let me go early. Sorts out any agency crap as well.

    Won't be staying, have outstayed the 1 year max policy by 6 months, with an exception from a high-level manager.
    And have been told in no uncertain terms that there won't be an extension.
