My last contract was with them.
    In general not very good
They did not response to email or phone calls when I had a question
They refused to send self bill copies for my administration
They never got my address right
They "lost" my bankdetails so it took 2 months before my first payment came through (In the end I threatened I would abandon my contract immediately if they wouldn't pay
Read the small print very well if you give notice before the contract ends, you might be eligible to pay HN the profit they miss out on for the remaining duration of the contract

I have always found them good at most things, although their knowledge of the AWR is pitiful.

Just signed a contract with them, and have to say they have been excellent throughout. The contract looked pretty good to me, and passed the contract review with Qdos, who did suggest some amendments. I took those amendments to HN, along with one or two others I wanted changed and they've agreed to all amendments within 24 hours and sent me an updated version of the contract.

Good RoS clause in there, and other terms such as the handcuff clause limited to 6 months after contract expiry were pretty reasonable comparatively as well.

I did ask them to remove a couple of Clauses, such as the requirement to comply with relevant Clauses of their contract with the client (they agreed to remove and confirmed that the agreement I was signing was fully back to backed with their agreement with the client), and a clause which said I was entitled to payment if the contract was cancelled (I only get paid for time/work, so don't want to be offered payment just because the client has terminated the contract), and there were no problems at all.

Have to say, I'm fully impressed with my dealings with them so far.

If you ever find yourself back over this side of the world I can highly recommend Sydney. Plenty of jobs and the money is still great compared to NZ.

How did you get on finding work? Myself and a colleague are busting to come back to London and I figure there must be *some* jobs around?
Excellent, thanks forr that. Yeah have definitely heard quite a few good things on Sydney!

Job market not too bad over here at the moment. Euro crisis definitely having an impact on Financial jobs as you would expect but it's not too bad overall. Though, I understand it was a LOT better a few years ago so you might find it quite a bit quieter now than it was when last here!?

But I digest. I used Harvey Nash, they were great, but then that was back in *cough*1997-2000*cough*. They might have gone downhill a bit since then.

If you are looking for a half-decent agent and agency with the more Australasian level of professionalism you are used to, as opposed to the chav-fest that UK agencies have become, then contact Kat at TalentInternational. She's great. They are all from Sydney/Wellington so if you ever see a role with multiple agencies, pick them first.

    Good luck!

In my first forray into contracting I used them and found them to be prompt payers and very professional, I had no problems during the 6 months of that specific contract.

Cheers for that. Just wanted to make sure they were all good. Not been here long from NZ but found some dodgy recruiters in my short time here so far! How often do they pay their invoices, weekly/monthly?

I had a 14month contract through them. They didn't do anything to chase extensions etc (but never had an agent who has to be perfectly frank!)

But they always paid on time and the online time sheets/authorisation worked well.
