London Address and Number for Contract work

I think looking at my CV they can see Exeter, Manchester, Nottingham, Woking and Ipswich as my last places of work so they know I am ok with working away!

As said before I have a PAYG mobile that I give to agents, when I find a contract I throw it away and get a new one ready to start fresh when looking again

If the client is really fussy about location expect the agent, the client or both to have conversations where they find out:
1. Where you live now,
2. How long it took you to get to the site,
3. If you live nearby what exact route you took, or routes can you take,
4. Whether you have worked away from home and for how long.

Apart from just putting your mobile on your CV and missing out your location also miss out the locations of your previous clients.

In my case I do this because I have clients where I've worked from multiple locations including home. So for virtually every client I can put in London.

I have never had locations on my CV, and I have learned to be suitably vague about where I live. I change my CV home location for every job. If I get the crappy probing questions, I deflect the conversation with something like "Oh I broke up with my wife a few years ago and now I just move round lodgings to meet my work needs because I have no need to live in one area...." I never bothered changing my address because I still pay the mortgage, and she has threatened to kill herself if I divorce her... So its kind of a mess... fancy a coffee/drink/anything else to change the subject? That normally mortifies the client into shutting up

Mobile only and also helps not to put your address/location on the CV.

Hi,

I have heard this before that few of my mates are using online numbers for London so that to the agency it appears that they are from London and hence more favoured when forwarding their cv to the clients? Basically contractors are always happy to temp. relocate or commute but pimps often try to avoid people outside London even after that.

Has anyone here has done this? Does it work or not?
