I always tell them I am happy to give them the details of the agents who got me gigs and if they say that won't do, I tell them I'm not the right person for the contract then.
Oh well, I will try those 2 agencies, let's see what they're about...
Cheers, happy weekend

I'm getting really frustrated with all these "recruitment agents" calling me about these amazing contracts and after 10 minutes of chatting, end up asking for 2 references and where has my CV been sent to, and where I've got interviews arranged... I appreciate it's their job, it's a difficult market, blablabla, but my patience has a limit and I'm getting very close to telling them to **** straight off
can someone recommend some reliable recruitment agency (.net/sql recruiters) which won't bulltulip much?
Thanks a lot

There are NO good agencies. The best you will get a few good agents at the agencies. After getting so many phone calls you can tell within the first 5-10 seconds whether the agent is any good.

There are some good agencies out there, they tend to be the niche market ones though rather than the big or generalist ones.

Reliable agents?? Muahahahahhaa! Laugh? I nearly wet myself... next you will be asking for any honest ones!!
I am afraid that is the way it is and you are just going have to see them as a necessary evil in the process. You are going to learn what their tricks are and learn to manage them IMO...
Even if you do find one you are still going to get the calls, they must be getting your details from somewhere. I would also say you cannot pick the agent, they only have a set number of roles so will be seriously narrowing your chances of getting a role.
Worth reading the 'Just need two references thread' and other similar ones to find what tricks they pull and then just get some set answers ready, even if it is 'Thanks but no thanks I am putting the phone down now'.
