He then went on to mention that a new aim has appeared for the end of 2012 and into 2013 and that is for the company to be contractor free and permify those contractors that they want to keep.
There is no way in hell this can happen and whoever came up with that directive wants shooting!

Go for a model that negates any flexibility while paying permies to sit on the bench (that actually costs the same as a contractor) in down times and not enough people to grow the business quickly enough in boom times.

Sounds more like you got yourself a place for the next few years to me. Maybe a stint out where they try it and fail but when they come begging you up your rate by a good percetage.

Either that or they will actually bin all the contractor heads but shift them over to a managed service providor so they disappear from head count but still cost the company the same.

Give us a shout when they start the changes and I will get my CV ready!

    Contractor reviews

A while ago I mentioned that ClientCo were doing a major contractor review, so I asked my sponsoring manager what became of that and he said that it is all done and dusted and those that are going are gone.

He then went on to mention that a new aim has appeared for the end of 2012 and into 2013 and that is for the company to be contractor free and permify those contractors that they want to keep. Will see what happens on that front. Maybe a huge permy salary to be negotiated.

He also mentioned that they would need support for the applications that I look after until Q4 2017 when the last of the departments long term trades mature!!!! Not sure how that will fit in with their 3 year contractor policy, if they have any left.

Until the future arrives I will continue to do my work and help with the C# dev work that is being done. Nice new skill on the CV.

Don't worry still aware I could be gone tomorrow.

Working...
