I remember working at a cr4ppy software house (UPCO) not far from the Commercial Inn. As a consequence we used to spend most lunchtimes in there. It was quite a novelty being service on by Peter Lorrimer as my father took me to my first live football matches at leeds in the 70's (should have done him for child abuse looking back ;-) ).

A couple of guys I worked with back then who I'm still in touch with have both contracted at William Hill. From recollection it was just a contract. Nothing outstanding either way. In the current climate though it's work and far better than being in London.

    The grove or the grave?

We'd occasionally take visitors from London to the Commercial Inn on sweet street who could not believe that they were getting Lasagne and Chips for £3.50 and that they can get served by Leeds legend Peter Lorimer!!

Ahh, the Grove, two pints of Leffe (no poncy Leffe glasses), sausage, chips and beans with gravy, top drawer!

Once sat in a room there with the 2CV society, there were only two of them, we offered to leave but I think they wanted us to stay to make it look busy.
Holbeck is the other side of the M621 so its still classed as "town" although word of advice don't point out to a local its actually a city, we will come back with a load of abuse.

Did you actually find out they were called Charles and Victor and their society had nothing to do with a tulip French car?

I'm not sure that hills would be happy with information about their security being posted on a public forum. Why do you want to know? If you want you can PM me.

I'm leaving there to go contracting at the end of the week

Good place to work but a crappy appraisal opened my eyes as to what permie indenture is all about.

(On a semi related note I have just got off the phone with an agent trying to place me at William Hill, but as a permie)

I interviewed for them, worse interview of my life as I had bronchitis, could hardly breath, coughing fits and a temperature of over 100! Needless to say I didn't get the job, but the office's are well located, casual dress, parking will be a bit of a nightmare though if your driving there
