Yeah, that's me thinking about the business opportunity!
Thanks, the temptation was there to go all Isadora Duncan "they don't understand me or my art!" but yeah just go quietly and keep in contact on LinkedIn sounds the best way (and most straightforward when you think about it).

Like SueEllen says - line managers come and go. But hey, you haven't even left yet and you are talking about making a comeback?Originally posted by Antman View PostBusiness owners were happy with my work, line manager not so. Business owners don't make hiring decisions unfortunately (line manager does).
If you do get the contract offer, leave on good terms, stay in touch through LinkedIn or whatever and be on your way.

Wait until the useless manager has gone?
Depending how large the company is, it would be worth being pleasant to all the managers particularly those who aren't your direct line manager.

Slingshot engaged...
OK, maybe I'm tempting fate writing this on here, because I don't have a contract in front of me. However the first interview went well I think that the second is just a meet and greet with some head honcho. It's that's the case it'll be boom time out of indentured permiedom.
Can anybody recommend a way for leaving which leaves the door open to come back in the future in a contract role? I could leave pointing out what an inept manager I had making the possibility of a glittering career there remote but the idea of going back is more interesting (interesting in the way that money is interesting).
