Had the same years ago with my Dad. I was 23 at the time and living with him for a bit. Had the home number on my CV. Pimp called up and started quizzing him about god knows what when she heard I wasn't in. Came back to him asking me why I was thinking of leaving my job, etc.
Quickly changed my CV to only be my mobile and I suggest you do the same.
Nothing is too low for an agent.

Don't put your home number out in the Pimposphere if you don't want calls like that. Simples.

You're running a business. You presumably advertised the phone number as a contact number for the business. Having a potential customer ring up the company, and ask whoever answers the phone about rates and availability, is hardly unreasonable.Originally posted by conned tractor View PostThere's a line and asking a member of my family such questions is crossing it as far as i'm concerned Mr agent.

That's a new stunt to pull. Why do these agents want to know? I don't really get it.
I had one call last week for a perm job at a past client. I repeated again saying I wanted contract work, then the questions started coming, like, which agency where you working through, what rate were you on etc. I basically told him to mind his own business and cut him off. I don't like being used to prise competitors' info out of.

LOL That's the first time I have heard that one. That is pretty desperate and poor move from the agent. If he asked my other half those questions he would have got a complete load of twaddle which anyone with a hole in their arse should have expected. Quality.

Pimp quizzed my wife about rate...cheeky beggar
Had a pimp call recently and as I wasn't in my wife answered the phone. The pimp started asking my wife if I was currently in a role. Ok, fair enough, but then the cheeky beggar started asking questions about length of contract, asked my current rate, whether I was happy with the rate I was on, where I was working, etc.
Luckily the missus is clued up and let on to nothing by saying she didn't know.
