WHS, also the individual responsible for that bad experience will often end up plying his trade somewhere else, so it's going to be hard to avoid.

I find I work the other way, i.e. having been around a while I have a pool of people I have dealt with in the past who haven't messed me about and I try and deal with them where possible, make time for a quick chat when they call to ask how I am, what my availability is etc, and often if I am looking I will give them a quick call to ask if they have seen job advert X and do they know anything about it before I will answer the actual ad. Cultivating a good working relationship with the decent guys is well worthwhile, it reduces the chances that you will have to deal with the sharks and makes everybody's life run more smoothly.

I HATE agencies (and the recruitment sector in general), but just wondering which agencies people have had good experiences with (if any haha)?

Is anyone aware of any agencies which specialize in short or part time contracts.

    Thanks in advance
So you hate agencies do you? Is this as in Celtic fans hate Rangers fans and vice versa or do you just simply think you are too important to have to deal with us?

Am not sure picking an agent is going to be much use to you and you will actually be reducing your ability to get a role. Hating them is your perogative but picking some and ignoring others is counter productive. If a small guy gets the perfect contract for you you have no choice but to go with him. Do check if they are financially stable and not a rip of agent. Google will help with that.

I very much doubt there would be anyone that specilizes in that type of contract. That would mean a client would have to have another agency on it's PSL and hand some contracts to him and others to the main guys. Something I cannot see a client do. If he has a PSL, all roles will go through it, part time or not.

Also people have different experiences, one guy could have no problems with Spring, another would hate them with a vengence because he has been let down. You are relying on biased feedback from one cheesed off guy. tulip happens and you get let down sometimes, doesn't mean you should avoid the agent.

If you are only looking for part time work I would think the best way would be to not hate the industry, just play them at their own game and treat them as a necessary evil. I think you are going to have to use them all to find part time comutable roles.
