Oh, and they want a 'personal' referee going back more than 5 years if poss.
Told them to do one. I know for a fact the client isnt asking for this bulltulip because last time I was there, most other agencies handed all the contractors over to the sole agent but the one I was with didnt. They asked me for 5 years references at that point and I said they were having a laugh. They said no, its the new sole agent who want it.
had a word with the client and they said the new sole agent thing should have been seamless to existing contractors.
It's the agent looking for new leads, nothing else.

Let me give you an example: I was approached by the vetting agency for my current gig a few weeks back: they were doing a five year check. They'd phoned to complain that the reference I had given for my company - my accountant - could only vouch for me from October 1989, and not May 1989 as I'd put on their form. Pointing out that that still meant he was vouching for me for 21 years(!) and they were only doing a five year check seemed to be too much for their tiny brains...

Havent been away long and only had one job in the meantime so Im only able to give 1 new referee !
Ah well.
DVA, at least centralise the reference aspects of BC checking won't ya so we can just top up(ie provide references for the period since last BC was done). As time is going by my referees have moved on so forms don't get returned or they're simply fed up doing them so don't get returned or returned when they feel like doing it.
