Location Searching
On jobServe the location mileage only comes into play if you specify a Town, City or Postcode. If you leave it blank it will search UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa. For UK wide search just specify UK. The mileage will have no effect on County, Region or Country searches.

So ideally a sort by Date/Time would be better.
IF YOU CHOOSE TO ORDER BY "LATEST" THEN IT ORDERS IN DATE ORDER, WITH THE MOST RECENT FIRST.
That way, you can check back every few hours and see what has come in in the meantime.
HTH.

Because I'm searching every day, I set it to 1 and latest, and then work backwards.

Dear NorthernLadUK
I am flattered that you have taken it on yourself to stalk me on so many threads. Obsessive some would say. They do say the imitation is the greatest form of flattery.
It must take some real effort to follow what I do on CUK. Sitting, waiting, 'will he, won't he' and then finally deciding to post a response. Some people are born to be leaders, some followers you can understand that.
I know, that feelings can confused and emotions can run high especially when you lack something in life, it means you latch on to people, get confused, get angry with yourself, it's all normal.
As I said, I am flattered, I really am. They say that love &hate are emotions that are closely alike. But I must point out I am not interested. I appreciate your emotional attachment to me but I am afraid I just don't really swing that way
I understand that working in a call centre can be a stressful environment and difficult to meet people. Maybe one day you'll meet Mr Right, keep plugging away. As flattered as I am though, it's not me, I hope you understand?
Rejection is tough, but I wish you all the best, keep perserving, keep using the Bulletin Boards, Chat Rooms you'll meet that special person eventually.
Good luck, your CUK colleague.

I'm surprised CUK doesn't have a closer business relationship with JS as feedback such as this could be useful for them.

I've been using this site's contract search - that's a simple search that sorts on date.

The problem with the location search is that it cuts too much off.
I noticed that if you were searching around a postcode, then it has a habit of cutting off adverts which are advertised by country or 'down the M3/M4'
A date of the advert would be great as well, that way you could sort on it. Not sure thats there.

In the good old days you used to be able to set up a standard search and bookmark the results page. I had three searches for the three separate areas in which I work.
Now it just messes up with all bookmarks re-running the last search.

Yes strange system - just want to search the uk and its abit dramatic to tick a box saying europe, middle east, africa and russia - (even though i know you can use a radius search anyway). Globalisation is alive and kicking at JS.

Also the search button is mostly obscured all the time, I can only see the top 1/4 of it.

To confirm I am/am not a noddy, you can no longer do a countrywide search, can you?
The maximum is 100 miles distance, right?
I also hate the 'Industries' drop down but that's another story!
