Now thats more like it - a tiny bit of Agent love

One day I'll get you all to love us....

I did get the client wrong - and I have no problem being ripped for that - it's what happens when you're in the office, meant to be working, and end up just scan reading stuff like this..... lesson learnt

I know that - I don't mind being chewed for being wrong. I don't mind being chewed for being an agent to some degree (although I'm sometimes tempted to reveal who I am, who I work for, etc etc to show you where I differ from the usual agent dross - alas I quickly remember thats not what I joined up for). The point where I draw the line is where all respect is lost - and that's not really a forum thing - it's the way I expect to be treated as a human being.

So I do a little more digging around on Prince2 of darkness, to find 9 posts, 4 or 5 of which have been removed, and the majority of the rest, suggest that actually the bloke has the world to blame, and clearly has no idea about the contracting world....... Ever wonder why you've bothered aggrevating your RSI for people?

I did like this joke about the manager wearing a bench top though - one can only hope someone has weakened the bench so that he ends up falling through it.

Say it. 10 posts would be an outstanding point for you to be banned.

Go back to your bench, and be sure not to get any splinters - I wouldn't want you to get hurt when you finally work out how to get your head out of your arse....

You don't have to agree with my views - and you don't have to like what I have to say, I am on here to both continue my understanding of what contractors dislike about agents (in order to try and be a polar opposite) and also to add thoughts and suggestions as to where you can drive effectiveness in your job hunt.

Therefore - I do NOT expect to have names like the above used.

More than that though - have you never heard of "never closing a door behind you"? Its a simple theory - you don't upset anyone to the point that they would never work with you again. Your simple lack of respect, means that if I ever find out who you are, you won't be working on any project where I am responsible for the recruitment side (and believe me - there are a number).

Now you may wish consider whether that comment was actually necessary (did it really achieve anything?), and whether (especially in the current climate) you can actually afford to make enemies with someone who could potentially control your livelihood in the future?

    Feel clever now?

I wouldn't have picked Capita as the main supplier to the Home Office, FWIW - I would have said Parity, B&C or Sand who were the main suppliers when I was contracting there for three years.
Maybe my arrangement was further tiered - to be honest, I'd be glad of that - I wouldn't touch any of them with a barge pole - at least one of which because of their ineptitude, one because of their reputation for ruthless contractor transition from boutique agencies - shafting them in the process, and the other, because I've never heard of them. At least I know with Capita I'll get someone who half knows what they're doing, and doesn't have the business nouse to try and shaft me See - even agents hate agents....

'HO'? Nobody calls them 'HO'. They are known within various market sectors and globally as 'UKHO'. That was even obvious from the OP's post and the subsequent handbagging.

I don't believe you're real. I reckon you're a sad permie on here to wind us up.

I am indeed a permie. I am permanently employed as Senior Level Recruitment consultant. <sigh>

Thank you for your kind words. Childish responses like that really do paint contractors in their true light.

If I'd made it up, would I not be turning round and saying I deal with all HO stuff, you should come through me? The fact is, I've done work through Capita because I have a relationship with certain members of their staff. If they are not the main supplier, then they are a supplier who opens the door for me to do business with them.... Good enough for you?

As for not being an agent. 8 years I've been in the industry. All focused on one market sector, predominately non-IT. I use this site as a way to impart information (you'll notice most of my posts are information to help people from an agency perspective). I also use it as a way to gauge what contractors thinks of agencies, and to work out how to differenciate myself - It's a dog eat dog world out there at the moment, and if I can stand out, I know I have a much better chance of making money. That OK with you?

Or maybe perfect but the recruiter is a numpty and doesn't think so .

Had a similar thing before. CV went to one place twice over the period of a year. My background was perfect (previous clients and experience made it so), my CV without even adapting it matched the job spec while also showing my all round skills yet I never heard a thing.
There can be many reasons why you may appear a perfect candidate but won't land an interview unfortunately, one being that you may appear too good for the position, another being someone you know who doesn't like your face or something already works there.

Either the agents putting me forward have no right to do so or someone there doesn't like me, I'm getting a little paranoid after my 3rd attempt appears to have borne no fruit.
