    The problem is you are competing against kids… I saw one project where they were offering £250 fixed fee and someone quoted them £25.
    I guess if you aren’t doing anything else it’s worth a punt, but you won’t be making any serious money.

    That's about right. All these sites have the odd project which can pay a reasonable (in this context £20/hr+) rate but you are going to have to work at it. If you're not working, or have the spare time, it's worth the time to watch new projects I'd say... though most of these sites have fairly poor search functionality IMO.
