Well I'm not Murex, but firstly there are enough none Murex contracts (my impression) and secondly if you work somewhere that uses Murex then you'll get Murex experience.
The main thing is knowledge of derivatives. If you have that then you'll walk into a Murex or an environment with it without much problem, well that is unless the market has suddenly tightened up.
If you know little about derivatives, risk and pricing, well no chance, but from what you say...do you know all the models ?
I have had an interview where they said "by the way we've got Murex"..but weren't really interested whether I knew it, well just aother of those hundreds of little boxes, they tick during the interview.

Murex experience
I am a contractor with 12 years contracting experience in the City working for a variety of banks and Financial institutions, primarily in the market risk area.
I am keen to improve my marketable skills and noticed that the Murex treasurt system is a lucrative and interesting market at the moment. However, there is the age old catch 22, that itis virtually impossible to break into this market without previous experience. Has anyone outthere managed to break into Murex or have any tips on doing so?Tags: None
