My profuse apologies for giving the impression
    a) I thought you were a bloke.
    b) I have low standards.

You may be right in both assumptions.

If things are that bad I would try to negotiate the % age down, do not pay anything up front and make sure there is a clause in the contract that allows you to leave the contract without owing them anything further than the %age of what they may take from what you actually work.

If they could place you somewhere, they wouldn't be buggering about with this rubbish. They sound like a load of scam artists, and even if they're not then 20% for payroll services is daylight robbery.

What does that mean? Have you searched on forums for the name of the company? or googled it to see if any other forum's comments show anything? Can you name the company?

I've not come across such a service before.

What happens if they find a contract through another agent, the agent would get a cut, this company would get a cut, isn't that going to make you look rather expensive?

Better to cut your rate down by 10% to the agents to see who would bite?

Personally I would not touch them with a bargepole - better to invest my time phoning up or writing letters - even if only 1 responds out of a 100 that would be a boomer!

Anyone has any idea about this concept? Is it safe? The company looks very influential.

    To summarise:
If they get you work - They take 20%
If you get yourself work - They take 10%
And if you don't get any work - You get zip

You know the word gullible is not in the dictionery don't you?
