    Hi,

I am new to this concept but I have been approached by a company, who will search contract work for me. I need not look for work as they will be marketing my cv through portal and all possible channels.

On paper, I will be employed to them and obviously take care of my payroll too. If they manage to get work for me I will need to part 20% of the earnings (pre-tax) with them. If I get something on my own then 10%. But they will look after all payroll etc.

Anyone has any idea about this concept? Is it safe? The company looks very influential.

      To summarise:
If they get you work - They take 20%
If you get yourself work - They take 10%
And if you don't get any work - You get zip

You know the word gullible is not in the dictionery don't you?

I managed to convince a friend of mine that gullible wasn't in the OEd - but then I managed to convince another that the chips in the canteen were fried in low fat oil - so fine for her diet!

If ladies find you (so) convincing I would concentrate on persuading them to get more interesting (or pleasurable) things in thier mouth

            1. Read the sticky posts in Accounting / Legal and understand the differences and options available to you
            2. Read the First Timers page (link from the Home page)
            3. After 1 & 2 you will have increased your understanding to then do some more in depth research of previous posts on this forum
            4. Any questions after that then come back and ask them.

You are lucky Mal doesn't post here any more !!!

As has been mentioned before by myself - don't assume everyone on here is male - or has standards as low as yours. I am neither!

What does that mean? Have you searched on forums for the name of the company? or googled it to see if any other forum's comments show anything? Can you name the company?

I've not come across such a service before.

What happens if they find a contract through another agent, the agent would get a cut, this company would get a cut, isn't that going to make you look rather expensive?

Better to cut your rate down by 10% to the agents to see who would bite?

Personally I would not touch them with a bargepole - better to invest my time phoning up or writing letters - even if only 1 responds out of a 100 that would be a boomer!
This default font is sooooooooooooo boring and so are short usernames
