Ooooh dan you just became my new best friend. I'm currently contracting in New Zealand (partly coz I grew up here) but am planning a return to UK contracting again later this year (after June).Originally posted by dandcg View PostAnybody else notice market getting more bouyant over last week? Just doing my RS,IS, and AS courses to get certified in BI and have a billion years experience in SQL Server and database development, Excel n Access VBA and VB to dotnet etc etc etc.
Keep me posted on how the job scene pans out for BI/SQL development, and if you can get me in direct anywhere I pay a generous backhander...

I had that discussion with a few agents... some have gone as far as to say that you might even expect more jobs in this area.... But then who believes agents...
There seems to be a lot more people applying for roles... and a lot of them are s***.

If you're any good the BI Developer skills should see you through the downturn as I think these skills are holding up pretty well. Lots of clients looking to BI to see where they spending their money, forecasting, budgeting etc.Originally posted by dandcg View PostSQL Server/BI developer.

Market Changes
Hi,
Been a lurker here for a while but finally thought I'd post and introduce myself.
Currently on the hunt for my third contract, left permidom in August after 8 years and went straight on to a contract working in Belgium for 3 months. Since then I been working in London and another 3 monther....
Started looking at the beginning of last week and things seemed really gloomy. However since the middle of last week things have really picked up. I've started getting 10 or so calls a day and have been submitted for 5 client and had two interviews confirmed.
Anybody else notice market getting more bouyant over last week? My technical arena is SQL Server/BI developer.
