    badger7579,

I got the same email but locations and skill sets relevant to myself were different to yours.

They mentioned circa 200 jobs available at these three companies.

Just needed to supply two references.

I got two of those damn emails.

One last week and the other today.

Last weeks one was amusing as it was looking for Interior designers and architects.

I don't know how my CV came up in that word search.

Well I received this today... Needless to say the fact-find form wants refs..

Good Afternoon Security Cleared IT Consultants,

You have supplied either me or my team with your CV in the last 6 months. With markets apparently down, Modis has recently secured a number of large contracts with some of the UK's largest companies to supply them with IT professionals. Modis Secure IT Solutions Team have a number of contract openings. Please see details of a three projects below. Modis Secure IT is a professional organisation and need to know as much about you as possible. Please see below a Fact-Find we require you to fill out and speed up processing time.

Please note all roles below are Contract. Modis Test Team require you to take 5 minutes to fill out the Fact-Find attached.

    Company A -

    * These are a global IT Consultancy giant and have a vast number vacancies in London, Berks and Hampshire areas. These are for SC or DV Datacentre Specialists. All vary in skill sets and naturally rates.

    Company B -

    * These are one of the governments biggest IT sites and have many positions which require SC or DV clearance for speed purposes. Certain delivery dates need to be met and we require high level IT Consultants with varied skills.

    Company C -

Government Project - Very little can be said about this at the moment due to the confidential agreement we have in place. Complex integration and migration. Knowledge of Linux, LDAP, Altiris and Data Centres skills are needed. SC or DV clearance required.

    Modis are Quite Good

I feel Modis are very good or at least my impression of them has been so. No problems at all. I know their margin and its quite low. Also, always negotiated stuff like rates with them. Quite professional in their approach.

They have never used any underhand tactics with me.

I'm very sure that you are working at the same IB that I left last year. That is the second thing you have said recently that seems to tie up.

I was working at clientCo with Elan and had an agreement with my manager that if contract was to be extended I was moving to Modis, Elan were constantly fecking things up regarding payment. Budget never got signed off though.

The people with Modis were all very complimentary about them.

To be honest, Modis have only sent me roles that were not appropriate for me. This style of approach is not the first time I seen from them. Things appear to be desparate.

I had the same email (assuming it's for SAP?) yesterday. Perhaps there really are some roles available (if only I had the relevant SAP experience*...)

    * not really something you can blag or learn up in 5 hours on the net, is it?

Havent worked with Modis but I speak to one of their agents regularly. I've always been in a contract when rung by them but they seem quite professional. Never had any attempts to get references from me or anything.

They came down from Sheffield, bought me lunch, Their margin was about 10% no complaints at all.

I was with Modis for 3 years too, and highly recommend them. Again, good rates, paid on time, etc.
