I guess so. If anyone is stoopid enuf not to put all the details down on the DVA forms when asked, don't deserve to get any form of clearance.

Someone in this office has a range of previous offences and got SC. It's all about declaring it.

The basic rule is that if you don't declare something legal or financial and they find out then your Clearance is pretty much automatically rejected as you've proven yourself to be untrustworthy.

Items that are available on the Police, Security Services, Court and Credit Ref Agency records will be found out so you're a fool if you don't declare them up front.

If you don't declare it now, and you get the clearance, and then decide to declare it the next time you apply, you probably won't get the clearance. Also, if you don't declare it and they find out, you would probably lose your clearance or not get clearance. Reason why? They will see you as untrustworthy. It is better to be honest and upfront and get clearance than to lie and risk losing your chances of getting it. As a diabetic, I have a caveat on my clearance that stops me from working alone. If I didn't declare it and they decided to do a medical check and found out that I was diabetic, I would probably lose my chances of getting SC jobs again in the future.

In the dim and distant pass I was DV cleared. I had spent convictions from my time as a young tearaway.

I hadn't coughed to a couple of things on my application form, but brought them up at the interview. Didn't stop me geeting a clearance.

If you don't apply you will never know.
