I know several Southern Africans (different countries) who have Clearance, I'm not sure how long they've been resident in the UK though.

There are some documents that have the category "UK Eyes Only" and you can never get to see those, but this rule is policed locally, it's not a reason that stops you getting clearance.
However, in the current market "must be prepared to undergo clearance" is code for "must already be cleared".

Still with £100b of mis-managed govt IT projects in the pipeline the existing pool of SC holders is bound to run out sooner or later.

A quick question - anyone know if it is possible for foreign nationals to obtain a Security Clearance, or for that matter any level of DVA vetting?
I am an Aussie here on a HSMP. Just wondering if I should be bothering to apply for all those "need to pass SC check" roles out there, or whether the agent takes one look at my *.au email address and bins my CV.
